NERC has funded a wide range of research and innovation projects to support the development of renewable energy over the past five years. Many of these projects are drawing to a close or have recently ended - however, new environmental challenges are emerging across all the renewable energy sectors.
This one day conference, brought to you by NERC and the Knowledge Transfer Network, will showcase the R&D funded across the NERC land based and marine research programmes together with projects funded with Innovation/Discovery science funding in the renewable energy sector.
The conference will bring together industry, academia, investors and policy makers to showcase the challenges and opportunities of renewable energy and help to identify future priorities for innovation and strategic research programmes.
Programme: The conference will feature two parallel streams: Land-based Renewables and Marine. Within both streams, KTN will facilitate workshops to identify gaps and opportunities for future funding. The day will close with a drinks reception sponsored by NERC. Early Career Researchers: Showcase your research: If you're an early career researcher, this is an opportunity for you! You are invited to submit 2 PowerPoint slides to be showcased in the exhibition hall during the conference. Slides will be collated from all applicants and will run continuously on a loop throughout the day. This is a great opportunity to showcase your research, but critically: you. Submit your two PowerPoint slides by 5pm Thursday 23rd June 2016 to natasha.sim@ktn-uk.org. Applications are invited from early career scientists working on the environmental impacts of renewable energy, land or marine, or exploring innovative renewable energy technologies.
